Bookforum—who previously published a notably (even for Tao Lin coverage) condescending and dismissive Tao Lin book review/hatchet job by author Joshua Cohen—has “buried the lede” in its coverage of a very positive, complimentary essay re Lin in The Asian American Literary Review, choosing to highlight and pull-quote (“‘human meme,’” “walking, typing gimmick”) from the description of charges against Lin rather than the essay’s thesis, explicitly stated in its opening lines, that Lin arguably fulfills David Foster Wallace’s wish for “a writer, bilingual in both irony and sincerity […] able to engage a post-ironic audience without need of the essentially terminal narrative armaments his postmodern forefathers bequeathed her (or him).”

Stephen Tully Dierks is a personal “hero.” Upset I missed “re:”s to my writing while at boot camp.
